Packing for 3 weeks
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009You know there are so many what if’s when you are packing for a 3 week trip. What if I need more t shirts? What if this bag is too big and I get charged for it at the airport? What if the weather is different then what I packed for? So many uncertainties its hard to make any decisions. But I am a professional so I got it dialed. I am packing right now to leave tomorrow for the Australian PWT. It is going to be a fun trip and I am going to be blogging a bunch to keep you all in the know of what’s going on. Corey, Andrew and I will be there for the whole tour. Driving around Australia with a bunch of boards, cameras and friends making our time there the best that we can. I am looking forward to doing some tow in’s with the Weatherall’s and just hanging out with all my “Mate’s” in Oz. Its going to be fun so stay tuned for some exciting stories!!!!

Aussie Pro Tour blogganza
Friday, January 16th, 2009It recently came together that myself, Trevor Hansen, and Corey Bradley will be heading to Australia for the Aussie Pro Tour in late January and early February. Trev and I will be there for 18 days starting January 21st and Corey will pretty much be there the entire winter. I’m pretty psyched on this trip!!! Competing in the Aussie Pro Tour is just the start of it. We’re making tons of time to free ride some incredible spots, do some tow ins on the gold coast with Jeff Weatherall at snappers, and we’re going to be stopping in to many of the CWB dealers along the way.
I’m planning on documenting the entire trip right here at ridecwb.net/blog and on my personal website andrewadkison.com with daily blogs and photos. You’ll get to see all the stuff that usually falls through the cracks on these trips. I’ll get the entire schedule for the trip up soon. Big thanks to Justin Abbott, Kris Bowers and everyone else involved for making this trip happen.
If you’ve made it this far in this blog the next part is for you. I decided recently that coming into 09 I’m going to keep my website updated through all of my travels. There were so many great experiences in the last few seasons where myself and a few friends ended up in truly unique places to ride. Beyond the usual press release and photo of the podium so much more happens on these trips.
It is on a very regular basis that I am amazed with the places and the events that I’m fortunate enough to see through wakeboarding. And I hope you will be too. From some of the most scenic places that could possibly be ridden to staying in a haunted hostel( that’s a crazy story). I’m going to keep you posted. Wait, that sounded about like a tag line for this blog. You know like a, “stay classy San Diegoâ€Â. I can do better than, “Keeping you Postedâ€Â
I’ve also been shooting photos of my travels for the past 4 years and plan on having photos to go along with a majority of the blogs and as well.

Gettin the cobwebs out
Monday, January 12th, 2009Its January now, which means all the winter festivities and vaca’s are over and its time to get back onto the board. I just moved out to WInterhaven, and am now neighbors with a couple of my teammates. Needless to say, i was stoked to ride on my new lake for the first time. That was Saturday, and now i’m just starting to remember it. Unfortunately my first ride back didn’t go so well, and i proceeded to knock my head pretty hard and forget about everything for a couple hours. The headaches are starting to go away, and i’m starting to get stoked to go out and ride again. I guess i cleared all the cobwebs out of my head real quick with that fall. Now, if i could just remember what i fell on. . . .
