Im finally back in Orlando and I went riding yesterday with Ben Greenwood out in Clermont. Mike Schwenne was out there as well. I was a little bummed to have to put a full suit back on. I havent ridden in a wetsuit in awhile and Im not a fan of it either. The water temp here in central Florida is about 64 degrees, so its not too bad. However, I think we are all looking forward to spring, which for us is in about 2 or 3 weeks where we can ride in shorts again. Anyhow, its just nice to be riding back in FL again and im looking forward to a good 09 season.

IChat is fantastic.
Where else can you talk to a dude that is underwater, and a yeti, all while sitting at your desk.
So after leaving Australia, I decided to fly into the hotlanta, where im from. I flew in Tuesday and pretty much did nothing for the first couple of days while i slept off the jet lag. On Friday, I went out downtown Atlanta for my buddy Diamond’s birthday. We went to a red bull party at this bar, Door 44, which is a cool bar right in downtown. I ran into Ryan Lamos who is the Red Bull wake team manager. He just happened to be up here for the Atlanta supercross, which was awesome, more on that later. Needless to say, Friday and Saturday night were both really eventful and epic nights. Probably the best nights Ive had in the A.
Supercross was sick too, James Stewart won as usual. He’s nasty on that new San Manual Yamaha ride hes got this year. In the final moto, Stewart lead the race every lap.
Anyhow, overall it was a great weekend, and Im flying back to Orlando on Tuesday and it will be my first time home in 56 days. What a great start to 2009.

This is what hurts the most. This does.
Wow it’s finally over. The Miami boat show and the unveiling of the new Mastercraft 300. It was a long weekend but it’s over and now me and the Derek are burning the midnight oil trying to get back to our homes by 4 a.m.. We helped break down the booth then delivered some boats and now were on the road. Using the wireless hub to access the world wide web. Nothing is better than modern technology. Helps the time go by a lot better.
I wish I could have blogged a bit more from the land down under, but unfortunately there is a lack of internet flowing though the country side of Australia. Anyhow, this has been an awesome trip, and an experience of a lifetime.
Yesterday, Harley Clifford, and his brothers Ty and Ethan, and myself went to a contest at a cable park in the sunshine coast, which is an hour north of Brisbane. The park is awesome, there are 17 different rails and kickers and it seems like every lap, you can choose a new line. Every rail is so sick, it seems to be the closest to a skatepark that you can get for a wakeboard. Anyway, I entered the contest expecting no good results, cause lets face it, cable contest turn into kicker contest, and I just dont hit kickers often. To my surprise, I made it through the first round and into the finals. In the finals, there were a few local boys, Mitch Langfield, Harley Clifford, and myself. It was a really fun format. There were 10 carriers on the cable and each person had a carrier and did 6 laps. If you fall, you had to get to shore and run back to the dock. It was really fun for me because I had never done an event like that. However, I must say it was a bit embarrassing because all those cable guys were doing 7′s and 9′s off every kicker, and I was doing 3′s and 5′s. So needless to say, I didnt podium, but I had a bunch of fun and you could possibly see me entering more cable contest in the future.
One thing in my trials as a career wakeboarder is that bigger is better. Wakes that is. Of course the bigger the wake the more fun right. I think so. Sometimes you are without a big wake though. And when that happens it comes to the attention that instead of being bummer or angry you should make the most of the situation. Occasionally I ride small wakes and although you can’t do all your crazy maneuvers on it you can still have fun and goof off. A small wake is the best thing to learn your basic. Learn some in to out three’s. Learn how to land blind switch and regular better. Goof off. Flip off rollers. Wakeboarding should always be fun. Even if your not on the perfect setup. Just push the boundaries whenever you can. Sorry for trying to get so introspective. Here’s one of my favorite shot’s of me ever. It’s just me goofing off but you can get the sense of it. Fun doesn’t have to be going huge remember. Spin to win hahaha. Shot by Spencer Smith! www.derekgrasman.wordpress.com
What’s every body. This is Hutton and I’m just letting you all know what’s going on in my life. I started school again taking 12 hrs. Most of them are finance classes and some strategic management classes. I recently got a reverse brendale boxer she is now 6 months old getting her baby maker cut out tomarrow. I am riding everyday mother nature allows. I am currently filming for spener Norris new film highlight and trying to rap up my section within the next month. Remember kids stay in school and don’t do drugs. And only you can prevent forest fires.
Wow its been what seems like forever. The truth of the matter is I forgot my password and it took me this long to get back into the account. Its boat show season right now and I spent all last week in Knoxville for CWB slinging boards. And next week I am actually getting the chance to ride a train to Miami for a rail jam with some of my close friends. It’s going to be rad. I love rail jams. There rad. And Mastercraft is unveiling there new yacht they came up with. It’s going to be rad. Im pretty excited. Hope to see you guys there. Keep checking this blog updates and check derekgrasman.wordpress.com too. Later brodos.
i competed at the “bulls, boardshorts, and bikinis” event last weekend in dallas,tx. it was a huge event for the dallas boatshow. always a good time. top pros in the country come to texas to sleigh some rails, ride the mechanical bull, and party. i had a good showing this year. got 2nd in the rail jam event, and second in the bull riding. i was so close to sweeping the thing. i could taste it. that would have been epic but i will take what i got. i had a blast and got paid son!! i want to thank bill geiger for always putting on stellar events, and just being a cool guy. thanks to everyone else that was there. good times
So I am still in Australia at the moment. I have been here for about 5 weeks now and I am leaving to go back to the states next week. The last few weeks have been super busy with the pro tour and clinics. But this week, I am getting to relax and wakeboard a bunch and surf. I just got done riding on the river with Harley Clifford, and before we went out, I told him that I had to learn something new today. Well I did just that, I learned a HS BS off axis Indy 540, and a HS BS off axis indy 720 all wake to wake. Ive do the BS 7 off of the double up a lot, but never off the wake, and I have never done a off axis BS 5. So my set this morning turned out pretty well. I tried to post pics as well on my last post but it turned out not so good. I will work out the bugs and post pics of Australia soon

Well, I may not have been able to make it on the Aus trip this time around, but was able to get a few sets in my hometown. It was a nice reminder as to how fortunate I was to grow up in Panama city, FL.
I get asked on a very regular basis where my favorite place to ride is and it has to be PC, florida. Our lakes here are like no other I’ve been to. Most people have seen or been to Panama City Beach and are familiar with the white silicon sand and the crystal clear water, but few are aware of the lakes in Panama City that look exactly the same. The lakes are so clean and clear you feel more like you’re in a swimming pool than a lake. There are 30+ of these clear lakes in northern bay county and southern washington county but Lucas Lake, White Western, and Lake Merial are a few of my favorites.  I’ll dig through my photo archives when I get back to Auburndale to give you a few more pics of my favorite place to ride.  Here is one in the mean time of Jimmy Trask riding on Lucas Lake a few months ago.
What’s up out there in blog land?
I’ve been traveling the boat show circuit this season and getting some much needed Frequent Flyer points and Hotel points, almost to a Million Miler on Delta…hell yeah…any way I was in Houston which was awesome great times met some riders out there, pretty cool place…..then I hit ATL and met up with a ton of the Ambush riders from the local scene, ATL is tight everyone up there shreds even though it was super cold everyone was stoked to see new gear etc!! The following week I hit up the Raleigh show and it was great fun times in Downtown RDU….awesome bars etc and the Overton’s crew was showing off all the new gear, another good trip. Next up I went to BHAM…fun to see Rob Quorum who we rode/shot/hung with in FL for the past years, Rob’s a great dude that has totally helped the BHAM wake scene grow, as well as Dustin who puts on some great comps in the summer months, I’ll be back up there on Feb 19th for the Rambo BHam open house too!!!ÂÂ
Right now I am in WPB kicking it getting ready for the Miami show which will have some rail jamming going on I might try to hit that up….back to Orlando this weekend and then several more stops on the Zane Boat Show Tour…..sort of fun but sometimes monotonus….
Rode with Derek, Jeff, and Nick Jones a few days ago, FL is getting SO COLD….it was 28 at my house last night….any way were full suiting it and maintaining the skills right now….Hutton came over and shot some….that kids’ got some serious drive and skills.
So that’s my life in a nut shell….oh yeah I got a beer machine and a karaoke machine for christmas…..pretty rad combo….Went to watch UF dominate at the Natl Championship, great seats great tail gate, and I learned to poach eggs better…..man life is good….keep riding and go big you all!!

Yesterday we went to the Logan cable park. There was some pretty cool rails set up. One of them being the best A frame i have hit in a long time. It was a blast the angles on it where perfect and the top was a perfect length to either gap or hit the top. It was a lot of fun watching Corey try to perfect his S bend to blind as well. He has got that thing in the bag. Justin Abbott the CWB rep over here did some riding as well and was showing us some huge petes of the kicker. After we wore our selfs out completely on the cable we went out on the Logan river with Harley Clifford behind his boat and that was a lot of fun as well. The Logan river is a narrow stretch that has a ton of bull sharks in it. So the goal is to spend as little time in the water as possible. Great times. Today we are headed to BLI BLi which is another cable an hour away. We are set up to do some autographs and baby kissing for the afternoon so it will be cool. Pictures coming soon!!!
