Time at Home

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

The life as a professional wakeboarder is better than you could imagine, we get to travel all over the world seeing new places and meeting new people. I couldn’t think of anything I would rather be doing with my life. So far this summer I have slept in my bed at home including last night, 5 nights. After being on the road for weeks at a time, there is nothing better than coming home to your own bed and all of your own furnishings. I will spend a few more days here in Orlando, mostly just relaxing and trying to ride as much as possible. Basically, all im sayin is that I enjoy my time at home riding, eating good food and spending time with friends.

09 Product

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Over the last few weeks, the CWB team has been riding and testing the 2009 boards and bindings. Lets just say that I am excited for everyone to see the new gear at surf expo in September. There are a few new board shapes and most of the bindings have been redesigned for the new year as well. The all new graphics fit the line of new product very well and I think that loyal CWB riders and new CWB riders will be very pleased in what we have to offer for 2009.

People who post that dont put their name at the bottom of the post and its annoying post, iPhone

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Dear all, it has come too my attention that many of you who are posting blogs on this website are not putting your names at the bottom of the post. This can become extremely frustrating for the thousands of readers that read these things as well as frustrating for myself. When you finish writing a post click on the “Categories” tab on the right side of the page, from there you will uncheck “Miscellaneous,” and then check your name…this will let the reader no who is writing the post..go figure. Then at the bottom of the post that you write, simply do as I have seen Zane, Derek, Andrew or myself do and put a little sign off like, ZS, DG, AA, or as I do Corey. Its that simple. Many of you are posting without a trace and people that are doing the reading are going to be left in the dark. Its that easy.

Run Way Models

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Today on 06.06.08, I got to experience what it is like to be a run way model and I got a behind the scenes look at the magical life style. So today, my flight left Orlando airpot at 10am, and I landed in Detroit at like 1 pm. From there I almost missed my connecting flight to the Twin Cities where the MCPWT stop #3 is. So we all board the plane and everything is going as planned and then we come to a halt on the run way. We sat on the run way for about 45 minutes before the captain came over the intercom and told us that we were going to have to go back to the gate, and that we needed more fuel and that we were to heavy to take off. By this time the cabin had cooled off to a mere 100 degrees F. So we go back to the gate and sat there for another hour while they took 6 luck passengers off the plane and refuled. [editors note: before we boarded the plane, I for some reason decided to buy a book which I dont even read, anyhow I purchased, "I HOPE THEY SELL BEER IN HELL", by Tucker Max.] Anyhow by this time I had read about 75 pages of the new book which is amazing and I recommend it to most. We then get cleared for take off and we head back out onto the tarmac only to find out that we still cant take off. So we sit on the runway once again for another hour and fifteen minutes until we finally take off towards Twin Cities. [editors note: also while on the plane, I tried to download a thermometer on my iPhone to see what the actual temp was..no luck.] Long story short, come to find out, the life of a run way model is not that glamorous and I wouldnt trade my job for that in a million years.

Back to the Basics

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Ok, so I have had some injuries that have put me out for a few days, but potentially could have been very serious. Over the last two and a half weeks, I have put my right arm through the handle while mastering the wake. Both times have been on transfer boxes, one which is at Gravity Research Center in Eastman, GA and the other the MasterCraft transfer box on the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour. So the first incident happened a few days before the ATL tour stop when I was transfering and I happened to fall on a backside 270 transfer and put my arm through the handle, I ended up bending the handle at a 90 degree angle and breaking the rope. I was only out for the remainder of the day and was able to continue wake dancing the next day. Now, we fast forward two and a half weeks to the Dallas Ft. Worth Tour Stop and I was riding in the semi finals on Sunday, I had stood up my first pass and was feeling really good on my second pass until I went to transfer the box toeside. I came off the top wrong and fell out the front and when I hit the water low and behold my arm was through the handle. All I could think about laying in the water in agonizing pain was not again, when the boat got back to me, they noticed that my bicep had broke a 4000 lb test wake line, and Travis Moye the MCPWT boat driver said that I stopped the boat. I took a few minute break and got a new rope and finished out my pass which was probably not such a good idea. I have been out for the past few days on this one, and my arm is black and blue and swollen pretty bad still. Hopefully I will be able to ride tomorrow considering we have the third stop of the PWT this weekend.
So out of all of this, one would have hoped that I learned one thing, and its one thing that we should all have learned when we first started riding…if you get in a pinch and there is no way of riding a trick out, throw the damn handle. So I, along with my other fellow wakers need to keep this in mind when wakeboarding.

Also, this is addressed to Derek, first off, my high score on iCopter is 978, which is not a thousand, but I am consistantly getting in the 7 and 8 hundreds…I want you to know that I am coming after each and every one of you.

White boy cant jump

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Yea, so yesterday the Alliance multimedia crew put together a “see who can ollie the highest over a wall without killing yourself” contest. The contest was at the famous projects wakeboard camp in east Orlando. There were a bunch of people that showed up, uh Trevor Hanson was there, Andrew Adkison, Mr. House, J.D., Shane, Watson, Clay Fletcher, Jimmy Trask among many others. JD went first and he set the bar by clearing 45 inched I think and I unfortuneately was not able to clear that. However if you give me a basketball I will dunk all in your face without a question. So im gonna skip a few hours of detail and cut to the chase, Andrew does infact have ups, I was a little surprised even though I shouldnt be, but that white boy CAN jump. Andrew ended up winning the ollie title for 08. Who knows when they will hold this prestigeous event again, but one things for sure, Corey Bradley will not be your winner cause this White Boy cant jump. Im gonna go ahead and blame it on my height, “Im too tall.”

Someone should check the spelling of this post.

Numero dos

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

So, Ive got some pretty good news from good ol Windermere, Florida, we just got a new boat out at the house and it is BA. Ill let Andrew talk more about it if he wants cause it is his boat. Best X-Star ever. Anyhow, the event where I got auctioned off last weekend was pretty unorganized, however, I did go for $775,000, which was a record for the night. I was bought by a woman that has a husband, so I assumed that they were swingers. Anyhow, it was for a good cause and the charity ended up raising $775,350, so overall it was a good night.

I know my last post was about parts of my spring break but I just couldnt get enough. So, last weekend, I went down to Ft. Lauderdale and South Beach in Miami. Ft. Lauderdale was good, but Miami sucks unless your in to Techno and long lines to get into bars and guy that wear their sunglasses at night.

I only have three more weeks of being a college student and I am very thrilled about that, its only taken me six years, thats normal right. Anyhow, Ill keep you posted on the graduation celebration festivities that are going to take place soon.

On another note, I also just recently signed with the best boat company in the world, MasterCraft. I am really stoked to be apart of that company and to join my other fellow team mates Zane, Andrew, Derek, and B-Hutt. Its gonna be a good year.

Be easy

SPRING BREAK 08

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Alright, so we are coming to a close on my spring break 2008. I had a pretty good week this week, I spent a better part of it with the whole CWB team, we had a bonding week. We did a lot of fun stuff, for starters, we made and captured the best team poster that has ever been made. It was a lot of hard work and dedication from the guys, but we made it happen. Look for our new team poster at all the 2008 events this year. You can probably even get Zane Schwenk to autograph it for you. And the rest of us of course.

So tomorrow, which is Saturday March 15, is going to be a pretty exciting night. There is a charity event in Downtown Orlando, and it is a bachlor and bachlorette auction. Basically I am a bachlor that is getting auctioned off to the highest bidder. I think these people think that im a piece of meat, and I am more than that. Anyways, it should be fun, hopefully theres not a room full of grandmas, but if so, Ill just roll with the punches. All of the money that these lucky ladies are willing to pay for me goes to some charity, I guess I should ay least find out the charity that it goes to.

Ill keep everyone updated, as to how my auction went.

Thats it for now, check back often as this busy season is about to get under way.

Oh and by the way Andrew and I both did triple S-Bends on the Indian Line at OWC, no big deal.
