Win Trevor’s 2010 Marius setup – www.trevorhansen.com

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

My wife and I are expecting our first child in April. Needless to say I am stoked! I want to share some of my stoke with you so I am giving away a brand new Marius board and Boots to one lucky winner. If you want to win the board and boots all you have to do is guess the date we will have our kid. I will narrow it down for you by saying that our due date is in April. To submit your guess go to TrevorHansen.com and click on contact send me a message with your guess and you are entered. If a bunch of people guess the right date I will randomly pick a winner. I will post the winner on the site after I get over the excitement of having a new born baby. Limit to one guess per person. Thanks to CWB for letting me give stuff away. Good luck everyone!

Gabe Lucas Tames the Beast at Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikinis

Friday, February 12th, 2010

The Dallas Winter Boat Show kicked-off last weekend and the wakeboard community celebrated at the 5th Annual Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikini’s Wakeboard Party at Gilley’s, Dallas.

There were no “Boardshorts” this year (the rail jam portion was unfortunately scratched from this years event – a victim of the strained economy), but thanks to support from iWake.com and the new Dallas Watersports Complex…the wakeboard party still went down at the legendary honky-tonk.

The evening started with the mechanical bull-riding contest featuring a host of top pro and local wakeboarders ready to battle it out for the coveted Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikini’s custom silver trophy belt buckle. After a quick warm-up session…eleven riders each stepped into the bull-riding arena to try and beat the bull!

The six (6) riders with the best times would advance to the final round and would also judge the bikini contest later in the evening. The longest rides in round one came from Gabe Lucas (23.2 seconds), Davis Griffin (22.2 sec), Adam Errington (20.6 sec) Andrew Adams (18 sec), Jimmie LaRiche (17.9 sec) and Joe Lemberg (17.2 sec). In the finals, it was last year’s runner-up – Texan Gabe Lucas – who would tame the beast and take home the hardware!

Injury Update

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

About a month ago i had the pleasure to go to TSR and shred cable for acouple days. TSR is on my top 5 places to ride in the world, behind boat or cable! I’m totally stoked on everything about that place, so was super excited about going out there. On my second day of riding I was having one of the best times on a board i’d had in a long time. I finally stomped a switch S-Bend to blind, straight into a regular S-Bend to blind, so was feeling pretty good. Then, on my next pass, i popped alittle low on an air front to fakie, and hyperflexed my knee. Long story short, a week later i was under the knife getting a piece of pinched off cartilage in my knee scoped out. I was on crutches for about a week after, and now have been walking for about a week. Although my injury was minimal compared to many, the time off the water has definitely made me realize one thing…. life sucks without wakeboarding! Seriously i think about it all day everyday, like a girlfriend that just dumped me that i can’t get over. I think i have one more week of recovery then its back on the water!! Luckily, the location of the pinched cartilage is in the back of my knee so it’s the only thing that can happen to my knee with no long term damage. During my time off my roommates created a dirtbike track around our house, so i’ve been able to hit it on the john deere. Check out the pic, pretty fun. Anyways, i’m counting down the days till i’m back on the water!!!

Buzz Hawk!

Friday, July 31st, 2009

After 7 years of having the same hair cut, i recently decided it was time for something new. inspired by the rest of the cwb teams dashing new looks, i decided to go for a full out clean cut buzz. half way through the cutting process i thought, maybe i dont wanna be so clean cut, maybe i wanna have a look that says im formal but i also like to party. nothing says that better than the Chuck Lidell buzzhawk. i have some in between shots i can put up in a couple days that are pretty funny. but here is a quick web cam shot of the final product… could i be chuck lidells son? you be the judge.. haha

saltwater

Monday, May 18th, 2009

For two weeks, it’s safe to say that my skin had more contact with saltwater than fresh water, including shower time. Since I live four hours away from the Ocean, it’s rare for me to get to do things like surfing, snorkeling and wakeboarding in lagoons. Thanks to 2 recent weekends of epic grandeur (Epic hosted contests), I have been able to do that stuff! Collegiate Nationals was in Mission Bay (San Diego) and the next weekend was Boardup Miami in the end of April. The water was rough, but the atmosphere and company made both weekends spectacular! My team (Chico State) made it to the finals and is now ranked as the leading Western Region team. I also got to compete in the men’s individual finals. We got to surf and ride roller coasters right after competing! Miami was awesome because you could see all the buildings of downtown Miami while watching each rider. There was a skateboarding contest going on at the site at the site too. A lot of the girls were at wake games since it was the same weekend, but the competition at Boardup was still intense as girls threw down despite the chop.
This week, the Collegiate Wake Nationals is on CBS college sports. Also there is a new website called wakegirls.com every girl should check out! Shawna and I just had an interview on that website too.
Now my skin has poison oak from hiking, so I have been thinking about how I’d rather have saltwater on my skin again, and I decided to share why!

Passwords

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Its no secret that everyone has a bunch of passwords. I know that I have at least 20 different passwords for all kinds of stuff. Here lies the problem and the reason that I am talking about passwords. How hard is it to remember what password goes with what? Its ridiculous! I have been trying to get on this website for an hour and I couldn’t figure out what the heck my password was. It was hard enough to remember the user name. Usually when you sign up for something these days it is either your email address that ends up being your user name and then you have to make up a password. Well I have 3 email addresses and 20 or so different passwords (or numbers which becomes really confusing) so how an I supposed to remember them all. Its insane really because you don’t want to write them down. I forgot my pin for my bank card one time and it took me a week to remember it. I was starring at the ATM thinking it could be any of those number!!! As i am writing this my wife just leaned over my shoulder and told me that no one cares that I can’t remember all my passwords and I had to agree so I apologize for the first half of this blog. On to more important things that you will definitely care about. I have 3 dog’s there names are Baxter, Mylo and Brody. They are the 3 best dog’s you could have. Recently though the breed of my dogs had been on everyone’s lips. WHY you ask. Well its because my dogs are Portugues water dogs. Yep the same Portugues water dog that Obama just got for the first family.
I was pretty bummed at first when I heard that they where getting the same breed dog as me. I like it when no one has any idea what i just said when they ask “what kind of dogs are those”? But now that everyone knows I figure I might as well capitalize of this. You see my dog Baxter bears a striking resemblance to Obama’s dog Bo. So here is my plan I am going to take Baxter on a nation wide tour of elementary schools and show the class “the Presidents dog”. Kids are going to love this and by the time they figure out that its not really Bo I will be in the next state fooling another class of 2nd graders. Its the perfect plan. Sometimes in a down economy you have to make moves you wouldn’t normally make and I am happy that I found mine.

Later
Trevor

This is all of course a huge joke and I would never think of fooling a group of kids into thinking that my dog was the presidents dog……… Or would I? The dogs
