So I was in my office and my neighbor called…frantic…she asked me to run down to her house to see if the boat house was on fire….so I jumped in the rep mobile and jammed down the street….only to find that indeed the boat had caught fire, but it had broken the lift and floated out in the lake!!

So like any neighbor would do i jammed back tot he house to grab the Jet Ski and see what I could do to help the situation out.  After consulting the bifougled firemen on shore they said go for it and I prceeded to put on a how to spray things demo with my Yamaha sit down.  A side back story Bates and I used to get in trouble at Cypress Gardens for spraying audiences with the Sea Doos etc, so much that we’d blast them knocking off their glasses hats, wigs etc….we were good and we could pin point on one person in the audience, so a 20ft boat with 6-8′ flames licking off the top was no challenge, or so I thought.  You see something else I learned is that fiberglass and the components of a boat are largely petroleum based….so it took almost sinking the damn boat to put it out, not to mention the fact that the neighbor said he’d heard some explosions, and I was smelling gas…so I was a little concerned, but courage prevailed….I put that damn thing out and then proceeded to tow it back to their house…..hindsight I wish I had done some ollies over the flames, that would have been rad….any way shortly after all the drama was done Jeff House and Derek Grasman showed up to see what was up….the whole town heard of the experience and I thought you all should too…..pics below, moral of the story…well there isn’t one, I just had fun playing in the water with fire, unfortunatley at my neighbors’ expense, but it got the heart rate up on a somewhat laid back Friday afternoon.

Wow it’s finally over. The Miami boat show and the unveiling of the new Mastercraft 300. It was a long weekend but it’s over and now me and the Derek are burning the midnight oil trying to get back to our homes by 4 a.m.. We helped break down the booth then delivered some boats and now were on the road. Using the wireless hub to access the world wide web. Nothing is better than modern technology. Helps the time go by a lot better.

What’s up out there in blog land?

I’ve been traveling the boat show circuit this season and getting some much needed Frequent Flyer points and Hotel points, almost to a Million Miler on Delta…hell yeah…any way I was in Houston which was awesome great times met some riders out there, pretty cool place…..then I hit ATL and met up with a ton of the Ambush riders from the local scene, ATL is tight everyone up there shreds even though it was super cold everyone was stoked to see new gear etc!!  The following week I hit up the Raleigh show and it was great fun times in Downtown RDU….awesome bars etc and the Overton’s crew was showing off all the new gear, another good trip.  Next up I went to BHAM…fun to see Rob Quorum who we rode/shot/hung with in FL for the past years, Rob’s a great dude that has totally helped the BHAM wake scene grow, as well as Dustin who puts on some great comps in the summer months, I’ll be back up there on Feb 19th for the Rambo BHam open house too!!! 

Right now I am in WPB kicking it getting ready for the Miami show which will have some rail jamming going on I might try to hit that up….back to Orlando this weekend and then several more stops on the Zane Boat Show Tour…..sort of fun but sometimes monotonus….

Rode with Derek, Jeff, and Nick Jones a few days ago, FL is getting SO COLD….it was 28 at my house last night….any way were full suiting it and maintaining the skills right now….Hutton came over and shot some….that kids’ got some serious drive and skills.

So that’s my life in a nut shell….oh yeah I got a beer machine and a karaoke machine for christmas…..pretty rad combo….Went to watch UF dominate at the Natl Championship, great seats great tail gate, and I learned to poach eggs better…..man life is good….keep riding and go big you all!!

Ummm I forgot to blog and I’m in this marketing meeting and the Veep of CWB said yo man you been blogging….so here I am…naww just been busy for me traveling a ton, injured my bicep 7/1 at the CWB shoot, I always get hurt at CWB shoots, nonetheless I rode Reno PWT and hurt it more so I am just now getting back on the h2o….it’s been raining back home so we can get the boat out and move to deeper water so this week Jimmy and I will be shreding it up getting ready for Nationals this next week. 

Here’s the real deal….my iPhone is now starting to be an issue…I have the 2.0 software on it now and the team MGR Steve Bates just introduced me to several distrubing things….my favorites now are the iBeer, using the Phone Saber during meetings etc, Air Hockey, and the most intriguing is Cube Runner….so there it is go get it, this is the best iTunes$$ you’ll ever spend….

 Checking out the new 09 gear and you all are going to be blown away….this year’s gear looks sick!!

So this past week I went to JC Sports in Clemson, SC and took a bunch of peeps out riding it was fun, the best was this little guy Max he’s like 7-8 maybe anyway I let him drive the boat and he rode, we had a great crew rolling out on the waters of Lake Keowee!  Then Sat-Sun I went to Lake Murray with Gunnell’s Marine and this group called the Rought Riders…(www.lakemurrayroughriders) and we did a huge demo/clinic/bro fest of riding all weekend, got to hang out with Shaun Murray and Austin Hair a bit, that was fun even did a doubles run with Murray barefooting!!  We took a ton of people, some had never rode which is what I like cause they get so excited to get up…hey I even coached some wakeskating and Wilds (the kid skater) landed a toeside wake to wake 180 and a heelside back side 3 wake to wake….big too! 

 Last night Jimmy Trask, Will Christien, Jeff House and Bryan Hutton and I all pitched in to help out with a Boys & Girls Club fund raiser….we all were essentially “celebrity” bartenders….not good for the profits to put me behind the bar, but we had a great time doing it and the event raised over $40K for the kids in 3 hours!!  Nice to see the fellow riders come out to help the community huh!

We are at the ProTour in Minnesota. Getting reday for Dinner. Zane is getting showered up for the evening. He actually sings songs from the Wizard of Ozz while he showers….WEIRD

Today Andrew was a turd….he really let Jimmy Trask and I down….he went to see Zohan with out us….and left us to set up the CWB tent…all the while under the guise that he was coming back to the hotel to BLOG…he is the weakest link on our team BLOG wise…..any way I thought all you in BLOG land ought to know…..have a great weekend, we are in Minneapolis and it’s windy will try to get some pics from the #3 PWT tomorrow!!!!

So the TX PWT was last weekend and I certainly cannot remember the results, but let’s say ummmm Andrew got 2nd…I think he should have beaten the Frog, and Hutton tied for 5th…new roomy kicking ass!!!  Umm Derek and I made it to live another day on the PWT as well as fellow roomy Jimmy Trask….yeah I have 2 dudes living with me and it’s a total bro fest here with FUEL kicking all day long these guys really have it tough.  Anyway…Gabe Lucas showed up and I haven’t seen him since the poster debacle where he couldn’t even ride a bike under water, Jimmy Wolf was there killing the rails looking forward to shooting at his house in AZ end of June….and the ATL crew AKA Lee Bros were on hand, Brett looks like 1000 bees stung him cause he’s all swelled up not even sure how he can bring his hands together to grab the handle, he makes the Macho Man Randy Savage look like a pansy…..serious….any way all in all it was a fun weekend, met up with CWB traveling coach Dave Briscoe for livations at the TX Stock Yards in Fort Worth…if you’ve not been there make sure to go…think about this, 40+ top wakeboarders hanging in saloons where the ride mech bulls, line dance, and generally take not shit from anyone…then we show up and what a nice clash of personalities!!!  Go it’s fun! 

 

 

That’s right it’s true DG is back anbd killing it..yesterday I watched him rip down some 7s whirly 5s BS 5s roll to blind he is coming back strong…the shot about was professionally taken by me today while driving the slammed X Star that’s him on a whirly 5….any way I am happy my good friend is getting his stees back.  Today Robbie Carter knocked down a nice grabbed crow 5 too then I watched him stomp a few 7s and 9s…..  Will is here in the USA as well finally got her green card sorted so she;s been over helping me ride some.  We’ve all been shredding our faces off at the house, JD has been over the past few days…speaking of did anyone her about the Redbull B-Day party they threw him in Orlando….I seriously have to give them and JD credit for the raddest Birthday party ever!!  Couple of hundered friends on top of some sick building in downtown catered and open bar…it was out of control (see pic of CB napping as a result from JD’s event).  Any way back to business there’s been some serious hours going down on the X Star the past few days, gotta get those skills dialed for the upcoming PWT in ATL next week!  Speaking of ATL I was up there this past week and the crew from Ambush/BuyWake seriously knows how to have a good time in ATL!!  Any way next up I am off to the Royer Rumble in CA….should be good will try to get some more pics….ZS

 

 

 

It’s been a busy weke down here, there are photo shoots happening for MasterCraft and the guys are riding a lot too. Went up to Wakeboard Mag the other day and did some stuff you’ll see in the upcoming issues and then got to bro down with Kevco, who I have know since like 1992-3 we go way back and he showed me some video of Steve Bates (CWB Team Mgr) and I riding back in the day….Dec 94 to be exact..any way he is convinced that this sort of relic belongs on their site, so please be sure to look for it I am talking vintage directional board stuff here…it’s so damn funny!

OK so they fellas, House, Derek, Jimmy Trask and Spencer Norris have been filming a ton at my house….and they put up this fun little rail to session right off the dock here…it’s pretty mellow but fun nonetheless…so of course I was taunted into hitting it and it was fun unitl I switch 270 on and tried to 3 out only to land going out the front at that point sticking my face into the handle and it caught my right eyebrow…now rocking ice packs as I will have a black eye and I’ll be sure to post that too.

Last but certainly not the least I was challenged in Edmonton by the CWB sub rep Jared, to man up and grow a “stache” I think I have actually one upped him with this beauty!
