Triple up! CWB gives you 3 ways to WIN WIN WIN!!!

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Yup – that’s right, 3 ways to win a truck load of gear. In the month of March, we are serving up Andrew Adkison, Gabe Lucas, and Clay Fletcher’s rides for you to score! It’s easy. Click on the riders pics below and fill out the forms. That’s it! No gimmicks, games, or spending a half of a day making a podcast. A podcast you say? We know you’re busy! Some companies like you to make silly videos about their products to win stuff. I guess they don’t have the time to make videos themselves. We have lots of videos. We make all our own videos w/ our pro riders, so you don’t have to. But I regress.

In case you want to watch a video about the products we are giving away, I’ve posted them for your viewing pleasure.

Ok – I lied, Andrew’s clinic isn’t done yet, you can blame Steve Bates for that. But here is Andrew being funny which is more interesting to watch than this podcast.

Meet Amanda Scholz, the winner of wakeboardingmag.com/CWB’s Chicks Contest

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Meet Amanda Scholz, the winner of wakeboardingmag.com’s November Chicks Contest. When this 24-year-old personal trainer from Sunnyvale, California, isn’t working people out, she loves to ride the glassly sloughs of The Delta. We recently caught up with the NorCal hottie to find out how she got into wakeboarding and what’s up with those tattoos.

How long have you been wakeboarding? Since 2004.

How’d I get into it? I have always enjoyed action sports whether it be wakeboarding, motocross or snowboarding. But I was introduced to wakeboarding by an old friend.

Where do you ride? I’m a sucker for The Delta. Up here in Northern California, we’re blessed by the miles of buttery Delta sloughs. My favorite place to ride on The Delta is just outside of Isleton and Rio Vista. It’s not crowded and you don’t have to deal with all the tubers or the crazy drivers. It’s usually just our boat and maybe two or three others. I feel so spoiled.

What boat do you ride behind? I ride behind my 2000 MasterCraft X-Star. What an awesome boat to ride behind! It’s nice though to ride behind other boats too though. They all put out a different wake, which can only help make you a better rider.

What’s your current setup? I was lucky enough to have Melissa Marquardt personally autograph my ’08 Liquid Force Melissa board and bindings setup.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a wakeboard? Going wake to wake. The feeling of catching air is crazy! I also recently got into wakeskating, which is a whole other adventure in itself. 180s are so fun and so easy. I always try to do something new to challenge myself, whether it be attempting a trick or trying to get better at something I am already comfortable doing. The last time I tried doing something new though, I ended up with a pretty serious concussion. But as they say, “Go big, or go home. No pain, no gain.”

What do you do for a living? I’m a personal trainer. I love changing people’s lives through fitness and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

What can you tell us about the tattoos? Oh, tattoos — so addicting. The one on my foot is in memory of my dad. My ribs say, “Thou Shall Not Be Fearful.” I feel like you really shouldn’t be fearful of anything. Life will take care of you, and I think that living in fear isn’t exactly living at all. The one on my leg is for the mister. He proudly serves our country in the military, and I felt it was right to honor him and what he does for our country.

You look pretty comfortable modeling. Ever done any modeling before? Actually I haven’t. I have always wanted to be a model since I was a little girl, especially for the action sports industry. It’s such a dream to me, and I still would love to do it. To me, I think that if you’re going to model for the action sports industry, it’d be icing on the cake if you participate in that sport as well. You know, TRULY represent the sport.

Meet Mandy Kapton the winner of Wake Mag’s & CWB Feb. Chicks Contest

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Meet Mandy Kapton, the winner of WAKEBOARDING magazine’s February 2010 Chicks Contest. This 23-year-old model and grad student has beauty and brains — all she needs is a boat. She recently relocated to Honolulu for school, and she’s looking for a few good rippers to ride with in between her stints on the runway.

How long have you been riding? On and off for three years.

How did you get into wakeboarding? What else, a boy.

What’s your favorite place to ride? Well, I’m reppin’ Pittsburgh. Conneaut Lake all damn day! Seriously, though, anywhere I can I’m down to go.

What boat do you ride behind? I’m a poor college girl, so no boat. Whoever will take me out with whatever they have.

What’s your current setup? Well, I’m about to ride new CWB bindings, and I’m looking for a new Gator Board.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a wakeboard? Butter slide, baby.

What do you do for a living? I model for More Models in Honolulu and I’m in grad school.

How long have you been modeling and what kind of modeling have you done? Since I was 17, so over six years now. I’ve done a lot of runway, but print and informal modeling as well. All different types of clients from Louis Vuitton to Sony to Neiman Marcus.

Where and what are you studying in grad school? I’m going to the University of Hawaii in the fall. I’m in the MS program in Kinesiology and Rehab Science for athletic training.

Who’s your favorite wakeboarder? Honestly, anyone that loves to board, even if they suck! That’s the key — just doing what you love. But if you can make money from it, then you got it made!

Clay Fletcher’s WBM Cover & Mobile Direct Video

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Brand-new CWB signee Clay Fletcher wasted little time repping his new board brand. Fletcher’s sick 270 to switch front board on his new CWB Vibe wakeboard scored the cover of WAKEBOARDING mag’s April 2010 issue. What’s more, Clay’s cover is the first to feature WBM’s Mobile Direct, which allows readers with video-enabled mobile devices to scan a barcode and instantly see the video you see here on their phones.

Clay Fletcher Shreds the March Cover of WBM!!!

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Clay Fletcher shreds the cover of the March copy of Wakeboarding Magazine!!! Clay is night sessioning the 2010 Vibe Flex at the Projects.

Another very cool feature is the bar code included on the cover. Download “Microsoft Tag Reader” a free app in the iPhone App store, take a pic of the bar code with your iPhone, and it will automatically play a “Behind the Scenes” video of Clay when the photo was taken. It is a “first in publishing” and a first in wake marketing tech!!!

Wakegames 09 kicking off and had an awesome photo sesh this morning.

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Started off the day with a succesful shoot with Bill Doster from WBM. Matt Hickman, Craig Katilnick, and Scott Stewart were all part of making it happen as well. Perfect morning for it and D-Dub was kind enough to share the lake with us since he was shooting as well. Great morning, good time and we did what we set out to do.
After the shoot I rode with Scott Stewart to wakegames and watched the qualifer. Wow, there was some good riding going on today. I’m prequalified thanks to a 5th place overall king of wake finish for 08. It gave me a unique chance to just be a spectator at a pro event without the pressure of worring about my own ride. I really enjoyed watching everyone. Most all of the CWB team qualified In as well.
Overall a good day and now were headed back to Auburndale to freeride.
